The Best of Madagascar tour
You will fly into Madagascar and be transferred to the Masoala National Park for 4 nights. Set on a rainforest covered peninsula the lodge can only be reached by foot or by sea, so pesky daytrippers or tourists here. There are only 5 luxury safari tents so at any one time there will be a maximum of ten people. With a protected rainforest on land and the ocean part of the Tampolo Marine National Park, the location is divine. On land make sure you look out for the famous lemurs, vivid chameleons, and if you're very lucky Malagasy striped civits. In the sea prepare for schools of bottlenose dolphins, green turtles and from June- September humpback whales migrate past.
You'll spend one night in Le Pavillon de L' Emyrne, a hotel in the heart of Antananarivo with a variety of restaurants within walking distance. The next day you'll be whisked off to the remote northwest coast by private scenic flight for 7 nights to the Relais and Chateau Anjajavy reserve. There's more spectacular wildlife viewing here with dense forest on one side of the hotel and the Mozambique channel on the other. With only 24 ocean facing chalets, complete with hammock for that Robinson Crusoe feel, you can be as happy here reclining with a good book as out wildlife spotting. There's a catamaran for those days you want to get out to see, and local fishing villages nearby if you want to explore and meet the locals. A once in the lifetime opportunity.
