Breast uplift

There are no exercises which are capable of shrinking stretched skin and once the breasts have started sagging, exercises will not help. However, it is often possible to reshape the breast into one which looks more youthful and feels firmer.

The operation is called a mastopexy (or breast uplift) and involves a general anaesthetic and overnight stay in hospital. By lifting the nipples to a better location and changing the position of the crease underneath the breast this operation produces a better shape. In some cases your cosmetic surgeon may suggest an alternative procedure, such as breast augmentation or reduction, to achieve the desired result. Scarring will occur and must be considered with a breast lift operation, but in time scars will fade to a natural skin tone.
